Fort Zoutman Historical Museum used to be a fortress which is situated in Oranjestad, Aruba. It was constructed back in 1798 through the initiative of the Dutch armies who resided in the island back then. The Fort Zoutman is the most ancient structure that still exists in the island of Aruba. By 1868, a tower was added beside the fort and together, it is not called the Fort Zoutman Historical Museum. It was renovated in 1983 and was opened for public viewing.
